Mirena guidelines have changed.

• If you are under 45 years the Mirena can be used for contraception for 6 years.
• If it was fitted over age 45 it can be used for contraception until age 55 years.
• If you use it for HRT at any age it must be replaced after 5 years.
• If we have inserted it you should get a recall for removal/replacement.
